Role Overview: As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the science curriculum, including biology, chemistry, and physics. You will support students in developing their scientific knowledge, practical skills, and critical thinking abilities. This role is perfect for an educator who is dedicated to promoting a love for science and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective science lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work in line with the national curriculum and examination requirements.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Promote the importance of scientific inquiry and the development of practical skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning and enrichment activities.
  • Participate in school events, trips, and extracurricular activities related to science.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in science education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in a science-related subject.
  • Experience teaching science at the secondary level is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the science curriculum and current educational practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
