The Role

We are seeking a  Part-time Support Worker  to work within our Teignbridge Community Based Services Team.

What You'll Do

Provide essential housing-related support for individuals in temporary accommodation. Develop clear, tailored support plans, identifying areas of support and actions. Offer budgeting advice and income maximisation, aiding in income management. Assist in accessing grants and other funding to facilitate the transition to alternative accommodation. Provide guidance in claiming relevant welfare benefits and migrating to Universal Credit. Deliver tenancy-ready training. Support in securing alternative accommodation. Aid in setting up new homes and notifying relevant organisations of address changes, including utility setup. Facilitate access to GPs, NHS services, Drug and Alcohol Services, and Debt Advice.

There is lots of variety and you'll be required to visit people in and around Teignbridge area, so access to a vehicle is needed.

Application Information:

Position: Support Worker (Job ID 872)

Hours: Monday - Friday Part-time (Minimum of 19.5 hours per week)

Contract:  Permanent

Location:  Teignbridge and surrounding areas

Pay:  £23,800 Full-time equivalent (37.5 hours) Part-time pro-rata 

Closing Date: 28th July 2024 - CCP reserves the right to close the job advert early if needed. 

*Annual Leave entitlement will be pro-rata for Part-time staff. Working on public holidays due to a rota pattern will be compensated with time off in lieu. An extra day of leave accrues for each completed financial year (capped at 5). Purchasing additional holidays is capped at 5 per year.

**Contracted staff only. Business mileage (45p a mile) is paid for any daily miles over and above the distance from your home to the allocated workplace location and back. You'll need a well-maintained vehicle with valid tax, MOT and Insurance covering business use.
