CYP SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY SERVICE

HIGHLY SPECIALIST SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST

Band 7

0.4 WTE / 14.8 hours per week (fixed term 18 Months)

Applications are invited for an experienced and innovative speech and language therapist to join the East Lothian SLT team, working to support pre-school and school aged children with a range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) across a range of settings.

Experience of working collaboratively with families and other professionals to support children and young people with SLCN is essential. Knowledge of national and local policies and drivers is essential. The post holder will take a leading role in developing our early intervention and prevention service and contributing to service planning. The post holder will provide leadership and support to junior clinicians in the specialist area. Planning and delivery of universal and targeted supports including training to families and other professionals is a core component of this role.

The speech and language therapy service is innovative and supportive. It is committed to the principles of clinical governance to provide a high quality service focused on the child’s needs. Support is provided for therapists in district based and clinically focused teams. All staff have a personal development plan and are encouraged to extend their skills through a range of CPD activities.
