An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist post within Gwynedd and Ynys Mon Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in North Wales, working with the FRIENDS Resilience team. This is a full-time permanent post. The post is based in Penrallt, Caernarfon with travel into the community across Gwynedd and Ynys Mon. CAMHS has a team of Clinical Psychologists, as well as committed and supportive multi-disciplinary staff from a range of professional backgrounds.
Gwynedd and Ynys Mon CAMHS offers a full range of assessment and therapeutic services to early years and school-aged children and adolescents and their families. This post focusses on establishing FREINDS Resilience programmes within schools, working alongside the Senior CAMHS Practitioner. We have excellent links with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme (Bangor University) and regularly contribute to course teaching and provide a range of trainee placements.
Applicants should have a Psychology degree ( or higher) and experience of working therapeutically with children and adolescents within a health, social care or educational setting.
Main duties of the jobTo assist in the provision of a psychological service to clients within the specialty under the direction of the supervising clinical psychologist.
To be responsible for the planning and prioritisation of own workload and activities following the direction and guidelines given by the supervising clinical psychologist.
To undertake research activities as required and directed by the supervising clinical psychologist.
To work within guidelines given by the supervising clinical psychologist and senior CAMHS practitioner.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.
