Liverpool, United Kingdom Reach PLC Full time

Company Description

Salary:  Trainees start at £24,024 and Seniors start at £32,760 + company benefits

Are you passionate about creating content that captivates and engages? Do you have a knack for understanding what makes audiences tick? And do you like the sound of moving flexibly across different topics and brands?

This autumn we are expanding the Content Hub with a new team which will be deployed on breaking stories and trends across our portfolio - you could be writing for the Liverpool Echo one day and the Mirror the next. We are on the lookout for talented Audience Writers to help us connect with our target audiences in meaningful ways. For this particular role, we are initially looking for people passionate about TV and shopping.

If you're interested in turning the day's biggest news stories and most-read trends into compelling content, then read on. As an Audience Writer on the General Assignments team, you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting engaging and informative content tailored to specific target audiences. Your work will be instrumental in helping brands resonate with their audience, driving engagement and delivering results.

For applicants without formal journalism qualifications, we are excited to offer formal journalism training. At Reach, we believe in setting our teams up for success from Day 1, so you can expect clear role expectations, open communication and a supportive and collaborative environment. You will also have access to ongoing training programmes and professional development opportunities designed to enhance your skills.

The role is hub based, so you will be required to work at least 3 days from our Liverpool hub.

About Reach

We’re Reach plc, the UK’s and Ireland’s largest commercial news publisher. We’re home to over 120 trusted brands, from national titles like the Mirror, Express, Daily Record and Daily Star, to local brands like MyLondon, BelfastLive and the Manchester Evening News, as well as our US brands. Every month, 47 million people come to us, via print and online, for trusted news, entertainment and sport.

Job Description

What will the role involve?

As an Audience Writer, you will be expected to manage and deliver a consistent schedule of high-quality articles about the topics that our audiences tell us is most important to them, backed up by data. You will develop compelling articles, blog posts, social media content and newsletters. Part of the role will be to conduct research using data to understand the demographics, interests and behaviours of our target audiences. You will regularly use AI as a tool to enhance content creation, delivering engaging articles that really resonate with the audience. Ensuring content is visually appealing and optimised for websites, social media channels and email campaigns will be a key focus of the role.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

To be a successful Audience Writer at Reach, you will need to have excellent writing and communication skills and a passion for the sector. You will ideally have experience in content writing with a strong understanding of audiences and social media platforms. We are looking for people with creativity, great attention to detail and adaptability. It’s important to note that to succeed in this role, you must be comfortable working to targets and deadlines.

As a member of the General Assignments team, the successful candidate must be available to work at short notice, and comfortable with accommodating last-minute requests as needed to support business needs.
