KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING

Essential criteria

Registered health practitioner with membership of relevant professional body MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent route to Advanced Clinical Practice with evidence of meeting the nationally agreed capabilities (ie. PG Dip 120 credits in advanced clinical practice and successful completion of approved support portfolio route to advanced clinical practice) Clear and demonstrable evidence of advanced, autonomous practice in the management of patients / service users Relevant role specific qualifications or training

Desirable criteria

Effective leadership skills relevant to role Evidence of knowledge and application of national work and standards in relation to advanced clinical practice and the relevant specialty Knowledge and understanding of the Trust’s strategies relevant to role Evidence of Continuing Professional Development through an advanced clinical practice portfolio demonstrating advanced level practice across the four pillars of clinical practice, education, leadership and research

JOB SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria

Demonstrable experience of working in a provider organisation and within a relevant specialty as Registered Practitioner Demonstrates highly developed expertise and knowledge underpinned by theory acquired through CPD in relation to clinical assessment, treatment and evaluation Able to demonstrate wide knowledge of health policy and its application in practice and evidence of developing involvement in influencing local and national standards Able to demonstrate advanced skills for assessing and interpreting complex client conditions, comparing a range of options and taking appropriate action

Desirable criteria

Evidence of relevant leadership in meeting clinical governance objectives Evidence of involvement in the development of programmes of care, protocols and audit Evidence of research involvement. Experience of interdisciplinary working

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria

Evidence of proactive involvement in the supervision and development of members of the multi-disciplinary team and able to demonstrate changes of practice through these Able to undertake clinical supervision and systematic peer caseload review of colleagues on an individual or group basis and support aspiring and trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners through supervisory roles Ability to promote the best use of available resources in the pursuit of quality service provision ensuring a safe environment. Confident in the use of computer systems, spread sheets, databases, data collection and coordination, word processing and report writing.

Desirable criteria

Evidence of designing, delivering and evaluating education and training in practice Able to analyse data and produce reports using Microsoft Excel and Word Experience of effective use of electronic patient / service user record systems Ability to lead complex meetings

PERSONAL QUALITIES/ATTRIBUTES

Essential criteria

Evidence of demonstrating the Trust’s values and behaviours. Able to communicate effectively at different levels of the organisation, and where there may be barriers, with staff, patient/service users, visitors or external organisations both verbally and in writing in the exchange of highly complex, sensitive or contentious information which may require the use of negotiating and/or persuasive skills. Able to work independently and autonomously as role demands Ability to evaluate care leading to improvement in quality standards and service improvement

Desirable criteria

Ability to adapt to a changing environment and changing priorities Evidence of skills in diplomacy, negotiation and influencing. Experience of planning and organising complex activities requiring the formulation and adjustment of plans .e.g. organising own time, co-ordination with other agencies and plans for sudden, unforeseen circumstances. Subject to the provisions of the Equality Act, able to travel using own vehicle on Trust business.
