Aviagen is the world’s leading poultry science company, developing pedigree lines for the production of broiler chickens and turkeys. The company headquarters are in the USA with a number of wholly owned operations and joint ventures across the world.

A vacancy has arisen for an Information Technology Manager who will be responsible for providing an efficient IT service to Aviagen’s operation in in Europe and Africa including joint ventures and associated companies.

The position is based in Newbridge, near Edinburgh in Scotland, and reports to the Group IT Director in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.

Working closely with the Group IT Director you will deliver a successful IT strategy using best of breed project management techniques to align the IT function with the evolving needs of the business.

Educated to degree level or holding an equivalent professional IT qualification, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience within a similar role. You will manage and be responsible for the teams providing the design, architecture, development and maintenance of in-house developed software applications along with the architecture, availability, and security of the on-premise and hosted environments they use.

The Role:

Lead a multi-disciplinary technical team and delivery of IT services and infrastructure. Ensure IT services are efficient, reliable, accessible, secure, and cost-effective. Measure and deliver exceptional customer service while driving process improvement. Develop and manage IT business continuity, risk management, and cyber security arrangements. Oversee the internal and external development of solutions servicing multiple business units with varying needs
