The successful candidate for the above role will retain their current employer, if you are a Jaguar employee you will continue to be administered on the Jaguar grading structure with the associated terms and conditions. If you are currently on BAC or EMC terms, you will retain your current employer but will transfer to a JLR contract and the associated terms and conditions.
WHAT TO EXPECT
As a Battery Validation Engineer at JLR, you will play a crucial role within the Design Validation (DV) team, focusing on the mechanical development, functional performance and durability / reliability sign-off of the Battery pack as part of battery unit programme delivery. Reporting to the Principal Engineer for validation, you may be allocated to a Module Lead or Technical Lead based on project requirements and team structure.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Battery Validation Engineer encompass critical aspects of the DV process:
Delivery of Battery Pack Testing: You will be principally responsible for delivery of structural durability, electrical and thermal performance and safety validation testing, ensuring validation test activity is delivered on time, and to the required data quality and delivery standards.
Develop Accurate Test Plans: Your ability to develop and communicate precise test plans, detailing the timing and specific requirements of test facilities, will be instrumental in ensuring seamless execution of validation activities.
Compile Technical Reports: Your role involves compiling comprehensive technical reports for DV tests. These reports serve as evidence for component and system sign-off, requiring clear communication to stakeholders.
Support Technical Reviews and Issue Resolution: You'll actively support technical reviews and lead or assist in issue resolution through established processes and tools. Your input will be crucial in maintaining the integrity and quality of our validation processes.
Interface Effectively with Stakeholders: Effective communication with departmental customers, including interaction with customers and suppliers, forms a significant part of your role. Resolving conflicts and escalating issues as necessary will be essential to ensure smooth collaboration.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Strong technical background with knowledge of power unit engineering, components, and systems.
Experience in component/system design and validation.
Proficiency in data processing using test and analysis tools such as Canalyzer, INCA, AVL Concerto, FMEA Reliasoft.
Ability to prioritize workload and lead issue resolution individually or as part of a cross-functional team.
