This role involves ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Our client is a main contracting construction company, providing a comprehensive range of services including Industrial/Logistics, Commercial Offices, Residential, Refurbishment, Sports and Leisure, and Education projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop and implement detailed site plans and schedules.
    • Coordinate with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to align project objectives.
    • Ensure all resources (labor, materials, equipment) are available and efficiently utilized.
  2. Site Management:

    • Oversee daily site operations and activities.
    • Ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular site inspections and manage any issues that arise.
  3. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

    • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on-site.
    • Implement and monitor health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks.
  4. Quality Control:

    • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality.
    • Manage quality assurance procedures and documentation.
    • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
  5. Subcontractor Management:

    • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors' activities on-site.
    • Ensure subcontractors comply with project plans and health and safety regulations.
    • Review and approve subcontractor work and progress claims.
  6. Cost Management:

    • Monitor project budgets and costs.
    • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and forecasts.
    • Identify and manage any cost variations or potential savings.
  7. Communication and Reporting:

    • Maintain effective communication with the Project Manager, team members, and stakeholders.
    • Prepare and submit regular progress reports.
    • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise on-site.
  8. Problem-Solving:

    • Identify potential issues before they become problems.
    • Develop and implement solutions to keep the project on track.
    • Manage and mitigate risks associated with site operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, OSHA) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Site Manager or in a similar role, preferably with a main contractor on industrial projects.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
