Serco are recruiting for an Engineer to join the fantastic team based at RAF Menwith Hill. 


Reporting to the Site Manager, the individual will be involved in analysing disparate datato monitor performance and create new opportunities for improvements in the role. Workingwith a small team of colleagues delivering significant improvement projects which will require radical thinking.


Main Accountabilities:

Good aptitude for analysis, a naturally enquiring mind and excellent problem-solving skills Strong team-working skills Good report-drafting skills, with consistent attention to detail as reports will be written for readers in the highest levels of government Willingness to learn and work with a range of IT applications, including some specialised data analysis and presentation tools To be responsive to changing requirements and priorities & ability to adapt to unpredictable circumstances Cultural sensitivity, empathy, and strength of character to build relationships with people and be persuasive The ability to work effectively under pressure, demonstrating resilience and perseverance

What you’ll need to do the role:

Qualified to Master’s Degree level or equivalent in RF and Microwave Engineering Firm grasp of the foundations of a variety of transmission and communications paths Demonstrable understanding of antenna theory, propagation modulation methods and techniques Competent in error correction methods and coding Strong and competent IT user Experience in analysing large data sets Experience of working in a highly demanding environment Proven experience and organisational skills to ensure successful service delivery Experience of working in a customer focused environment Good MS Office skills UK Residency for UK Security Clearance Must be able to attain and maintain a DV security clearance Continue to develop skills, knowledge and problem-solving experience that will lead to greater technical responsibilities for system management Keen attention to detail and the ability to maintain the currency and accuracy of information and systems. Substantial IT experience with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft and other commonly used IT packages, with the ability to quickly learn new systems, specifically MS Project
