We are looking for atalented Practitioner Psychologist to ensure the high qualitydevelopment and provision of psychologically informed interventionswithin our Drug & Alcohol Wellbeing Services in Hammersmith& Fulham and bring a psychologically informed perspective tomultiagency working.

RoleResponsibility

You will use your expertise tooffer psychological assessment and formulation and build on a rangeof evidence-based psychological treatment approaches to support therecovery journey of people experiencing substance use and/or mentalhealth difficulties. In addition to offering psychological therapyto a small caseload of service users with complex needs, you willbe expected to consult with colleagues on psychological aspects oftreatment and ensure the offer of a psychological perspectivewithin the multi-disciplinary team. Line managing staff such asAdvanced Practitioners, Group Leads, Assistant Psychologists,providing clinical supervision for Assistant Psychologists andpractice supervision to staff offering psychosocial interventionswill be a vital part of your role. In addition to theseresponsibilities, you will be expected to lead on the developmentof integrated care pathways with primary mental health partneragencies.

Beyond the operational level, you willoversee the use of outcome measures for psychosocial interventionsand  lead on  the management of databases, audit andevaluation related to psychosocial and psychological provision. Youwill explore ways to continuously improve our services byparticipating in national psychosocial service development inresponse to needs analysis, supporting the development andgovernance of psychosocial  and psychological interventionsand training and coaching in psychosocial and psychologicalapproaches for local Turning Point staff and external partneragencies. You will be invited to work with our national team ofClinical, Counselling and Forensic Psychologists to lead selectednational psychology team work streams.

The IdealCandidate

Along with currentregistration through the Health and Social Professions Council(HCPC) as a Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist, youwill need a doctorate in your professional specialism and provenability to deliver psychological services. You willhave experience of providing, practice managerial or clinicalsupervision and of offering psychological therapies to people withmental health and/or substance use difficulties. Excellentcommunication skills, knowledge of IT systems, passion, energy andenthusiasm to be an advocate for change and support staff teamsthrough change, to be person centred in your approach to colleaguesand people we support and to add to the delivery of positiveoutcomes, will all contribute to you becoming a vital member of ourclinical team.
