North Worcester Primary Academy is an impressive free school run by the highly regarded Rivers C of E Academy Trust, specialists in early years and primary provision. We are looking for two teaching assistants who would be expected to support class teachers across the primary range, so should have strong literacy and numeracy skills and experience of working with children in an education setting. Initially, one of these roles would be to support EYFS and KS1 and the other role would be for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with SEND - please state this on your application form.

Since opening in 2019, our enthusiastic staff have worked hard to create a safe and inclusive school where children feel happy and are excited to learn. We are Ofsted rated ‘good’ in all areas (February 2024). What are we looking for:

Previous experience in working in an educational settingGood understanding of supporting behaviour in a nurturing environmentAble to work with children 1:1 as required, including children with additional needsAble to work in the whole class environmentGood interpersonal skillsFlexible and creativePositive and hard workingUnderstanding of how children learn and developUnderstanding to differing children’s needsDesirable – experience in running after school or holiday clubs.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting teacher and pupilsWorking with pupils on an individual or group basis as required by the class teacherRunning, alongside other teaching assistant colleagues, a holiday club for 25 days during the school holidaysAssisting in offsite visitsAiding pupils with special needs to access all subjects of the national curriculum and encourage their independence as learnersMotivating and encouraging pupils to behave well in and around schoolMeeting the physical and/or hygiene needs of pupils as requiredSupporting children at lunchtime
