A leading commodities trading firm are searching for an experienced Windows/Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. As Principal Platform Operations Engineer you will sit as the manager’s number two and as a result will be expected to proactively offer suggestions for strategic change and improvements, support the manager with his duties, and have the ability to autonomously deliver major projects. Much of your work with focus on Windows Server and VMware and as a result you will be expected to have strong experience across both. The team are currently working on a number of projects that you will get a chance to work on. This includes the following:
Data Centre move planning, investigation, and execution (Will be heavily involved in this) Moving DR management in-house Migrating more of their estate to Azure Increasing Linux estate Starting to do a lot of work with Kubernetes and Docker, much more to comeCurrently only 2/3 applications are hosted in AKS containers so there is still a lot of work to do in this. They have built out some Kubernetes clusters on premises, but none are in production. This role offers a great opportunity for someone upskill in Kubernetes and Linux as neither are a pre-requisite yet there will be regular chances to work with both.

Requirements:
Windows Server VMware Strong Scripting and automation (any language, more the mindset they are after) Demonstrated experience managing/driving major projects independently Good seniority for a principal – Autonomy to deliver projects, come with own ideas/suggestions, lead exposure is useful Cloud experience, significant preference for Azure Active Directory Strong storage experience, preferably Pure Any industry Bonus: Kubernetes, Brokade, Linux, Docker, Citrix, Networking (Paolo Alto, Cisco) Background: Windows/Infra/Server Engineer with 10+ years xp.
