Job Purpose

Performs complex inspections and works on difficult quality problems at a site or manufacturing plant - often in collaboration with an Engineer

Job Description

Works under some but limited supervision to independently analyze facts and transactions to determine action to be taken within the limits of standard practice and quality policy.
• May adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.
• Assists NRB (Nonconformance Review Board) in resolving problems with non-conformance.
• Records inspection results and completes reports and related documentation or data entry in an accurate and timely manner. Reports nonconforming product to the appropriate function.
• Receives materials and reviews MTR (Material Test Report) and compares to the DBI (Data Base Information) to determine dimension specifications, measurements and tests required to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure all work completed in the workshop is done with testing gear that is in calibration, per the procedure and that procedures are filled out correctly and accurately
• Ensures that all tagging and quality procedures are followed so that there will be no discrepancies in the data book once equipment is complete and ready to ship to the customer.
• Receives, classifies, reconciles, interprets, consolidates and or summarizes documents and information related to quality.
• Assist with internal quality audits
• Compiles reports, drawing data from varieties of sources within the quality department.
• Performs critical inspections to evaluate and analyze difficult quality problems.
• Identifies causes of nonconformances and follow them for corrective actions.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications including customer and vendor specifications
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the direct report for the efficient operation of ongoing projects etc.

You are meant for this job if:

Typically should have over two years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
Welding/non destuctive testing related experience. Must possess a clear understanding of high school math and have the ability to read, write and comprehend English. Higher National Diploma or university degree preferred. Drafting, Engineering or Machining background would be helpful. Ability to comprehend and understand geometric tolerancing on blueprints. Ability to interpret and apply API, and ISO requirements to Data Base Information and components. Must be competent in several areas of inspection (dimensional, magnetic particles, dye penetrant or hardness testing.) Must have multiple Level II NDE certifications in a Quality discipline. Must have gage calibration exposure. Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the country, without sponsorship. American Welding Society (AWS) or CSWIP 3.1 Welding Certification preferred. Certificate or equivalent/ technical background Certifications in NDE methods for quality inspections. Must have strong knowledge of quality auditing techniques and documentation requirements and demonstrate the ability to perform internal or external process. An ability to use QC measuring tools. Continuously raise standards, innovative, solution-oriented, ability to help us solve complex problems. Be open-minded, open to travel, speak English proficiently, be adaptable and work in multicultural environment.
