We see our employees as individuals, empowering them to make the right choices for their ambitions and careers. We value our people as vital to our continued success and aspire to a diverse, open and inclusive environment that provides the motivation for everyone to pursue their career goals and flourish.
When you work for Activate Learning, you’re working for an organisation that provides you with the advantages of a large employer, a trusted partner in your career development, and a transformational way of working whilst also investing in building a community environment for everyone.
Together, we will bring out the best version of yourself.
About the role:
To meet our vision of achieving far-reaching, progressive change and impact through learning, we need an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher in Visual Arts. This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. The post will be to teach UAL Art & Design courses across levels 2 and 3 at our Bracknell and Wokingham College Campus.
This is a permanent, full-time post but applications for part-time would be welcomed.
What do you need to be successful as an Art and Design Teacher at Activate Learning?
Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or an Art & Design degree, preferably with experience in a range of visual art disciplines. Ideal candidates will also have recent teaching experience in an FE environment, the ability to deliver UAL programmes in Art & Design and a proven track record of managing student groups.
Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.
In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of UAL Art & Design programme delivery along with the proven ability to successfully support student progression onto higher education or into the workplace. You will have an open mindset and attitude towards technology and virtual learning tools. Along with current Maths and English skills, you will also demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate their desire and ability to work alongside the wider team to develop links with local businesses and the wider community to build and engage students in valuable work experience and project-based learning.
