Situated inDursley, on the edge of the Cotswolds, midway between Gloucester and Bristol,May Lane Surgery is a friendly surgery serving approximately 10,000 patients.

We are a 4partner Surgery with a comprehensive team including reception, nursing andmanagerial staff, and an enthusiastic ARR team currently comprising a ClinicalPharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Social Prescriber, aParamedic Care Co-ordinator and a Young Persons Social Prescriber.

Job responsibilities

Summary- The duties will include a variety of tasksand any roles agreed between the nurse and doctors as appropriate, havingregard to current training. The post-holder will contribute to theeffectiveness of the team.

Ensures awareness of statutory and local clinical protectionprocedures, including systems of referral. Ability to recognise signs andsymptoms of child abuse.

Able to perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation according tocurrent UK guidelines.

Ability to obtain and document informed consent (eitherverbal or written).

Ensure infection control guidelines are maintained.

Confidentially of information gained at work must bepreserved at all times.

Carry out other duties as required which are commensuratewith the skills and knowledge required by the post, and for which training hasbeen provided.

Assist patients to identify theirhealth needs.

Contribute an HCA perspective tothe practice development plan.

Manage and organise individualpatient consultations.

Aware of identification andreporting procedures related to professional standards.

To attend staff meetings andProtected Learning Time events.

Support others with theirtraining and development needs.

To participate in continuingeducation and maintain a contemporary level of professional knowledge andskills.
