Warwickshire, United Kingdom Playground Games Full time

Description

Playground Games is looking for an experienced Audio Programmer to join our Fable team on a permanent basis. We welcome engineers of all levels to apply.

About us:

As a first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about making genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and, most of all, fun. We are excited to be rebooting the much-loved Fable franchise and are expanding our diverse team to create a new classic in the action RPG genre.

About the role:

You will join the team working on a proprietary game engine, giving you the rare opportunity to shape the technology used to build a large-scale AAA title.

You’ll be working alongside the audio design team to create world class audio systems. Working with a proprietary engine allows you to ensure the technology is exactly right for the systems you need to create.

Our ideal candidate is an engineer with an understanding of audio technologies, who is passionate about their craft and has the track record to prove it. Your passion for audio technology means you are not only implementing cutting edge systems, but also aware of trends and technologies being developed across the industry.

This is a permanent role based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa, with hybrid work model in place. Relocation assistance is available.

 What you’ll do:

Work with the audio design team to understand their requirements and help guide the direction of our audio technology.  Develop audio systems and get involved in foundational architectural decisions and implementation.  Collaborate with our design teams to help develop creative solutions to achieve their goals.

What you’ll bring:

Great C++ and software architecture skills.  Experience of working on game audio for published titles.  Excellent communication skills.  A proven ability to design and implement re-usable systems.  A passion for games.

Desirable skills:

Detailed knowledge of game audio systems and techniques.  Knowledge of game audio middleware.
