Job Details

Mobile Assistant Janitors covering all janitorial duties along with cleaning and school crossing patrols as required.

We currently have two permanent vacancies on a 40 week contract to join our teams within schools and nurseries in West Fife.

Post 1 - Assistant Janitor Dunfermline High School 25 hours per week from 12 noon to 5:00pm on a permanent 40 week contract Monday to Friday Post 2 - Mobile Assistant Janitor 25 hours per week from 5:00pm to 10:00pm on a permanent 40 week term time contract Monday to Friday

You will earn a competitive salary of £22,525.71 to £23,633.23 per year with enhancements for weekends and shift work and have access to a range of benefits, including:

£12.00 per hour to start, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends. Pay is 4 weekly and annualised for 40 week contracts. Undertaking prescribed cleaning procedures as directed in various establishments and ensuring all bodily fluid/spillages are dealt with in accordance with service guidelines.

Ensuring that educational establishments and grounds are opened at prescribed times, and that they are secure at the end of the working day.

Co-operating with all appropriate personnel and agencies in maintaining the security of the premises.

A willingness to complete additional training as required.

Responding to emergency call-outs in accordance with established procedures, including attending at the location, contacting appropriate authorities, inspecting for damage and theft, effecting repair and where necessary, liaising with contractors / emergency services on site.

Carrying out prescribed procedures in the event of fire, flooding, accident, or damage including liaising with appropriate staff, contractors etc.

The Person

Driver’s licence is desirable.

Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
