Job summary

Band 7 Advanced Dietitian, Paediatric Diabetes

Part-time 15hrs per week

This post sits within the Diabetes Dietetic team at st Richards Hospital and works closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide dietetic care to children with Diabetes.

We see patients face to face and travel to homes and school to support patients and their families to manage their diabetes.

If you have at least 3 years post graduate NHS experience and experience of working with children and diabetes. You must have a desire to demonstrate high standards of care with excellent communication skills, this post offers the support of a friendly department and experienced multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

Work as part of the dietetic and multidisciplinary teams to provide highly specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and other health professionals within the speciality of paediatric diabetes.

Provide training to undergraduate Dietitians, supervising their clinical placements.

Participate in continuing professional development, audit and research within this specialist area to further best practice.

Job responsibilities

St Richards Hospital, is a 450-bed district general hospital situated in Chichester. It is part of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

Dietetic specialities include acute, diabetes, gastroenterology, paediatrics, bariatrics, nutrition support, eating disorders and community Dietetics.

We train student dietitians for A, B and C placements.
