The Director of Medical Education (DME) is responsible for maintaining and developing the profile of medical and dental education within the Trust and promoting high standards. The post holder will develop a strategy for medical education, be responsible for the Business of Medical Education and Training and for ensuring the delivery of the HEETV Educational Contract. The post holder will have a close professional relationship with the Dean/HEETV to ensure quality control of programmes, develop and deliver the wider multi-professional educational agenda and for supporting and developing educators. The post holder will provide leadership across all sites within the Trust including the Horton General, John Radcliffe, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and Churchill Hospitals.
Main duties of the job Provide professional leadership and vision for the Trust on medical education issues. Align medical training and education with the service objectives as defined by the Trust Board Represent the Trust on medical education issues, both externally and internally. Produce, implement and monitor a strategy for the provision of medical education and training. Take responsibility for the achievement of defined standards of postgraduate medical education.
