We are recruiting a Clinical Psychologist to join our new Swindonteam working with Children Looked After (CLA).

Job responsibilities

Dutiesand Responsibilities:

To manage own caseload delivering a high quality targetedemotional support service to children looked after by Swindon borough council

Ensureassessment is provided in a range of settings suitable to meet the needs of theclients.

Workin a professional and collaborative manner with the multi-disciplinary team.

Provideinformation, education and support for family members, carers and otherrelevant professionals.

Participateand promote positive multi-disciplinary team working.

Participatein case load supervision to monitor the standards of client cases and ensurerecord keeping is in accordance with CQC standards.

Participatein regular clinical and managerial supervision, as per ABL Health policy.

Contributeto the development and implementation of integrated care pathways, includingappropriate assessments/referrals and models of care.

Compileand maintain effective client records and record outcome measures inconjunction with clients and in accordance with ABL Health policies, proceduresand standards.

Participatein the induction, training or education of a variety of staff, students orvolunteers attached to the team/service.

Participateand assist in setting standards of client care based on sound research findingsand evidence based practice.

Undertakedelegated responsibilities as agreed with the Service Lead

Tomanage projects as delegated.

Supportthe formulation and implementation of clinical and operational practices, andprocedures as appropriate.

Participatein the recruitment, selection and induction of new staff.

Tomonitor and evaluate own clinical practice against professional standards,guidelines and policies.

Toadvise the Service Lead of any service delivery issues.

Toidentify the need for, and to request, new equipment, resources and assessmenttools.

Assistin the development of local protocols to ensure a high standard of servicedelivery is achieved and maintained.

Toengage in service development and discuss with the Service Lead andProfessional Lead

SuperviseAPs (not immediately)

Supportthe process of staff participation in the formulation of new ideas/suggestionsto improve client care and service delivery.

Providestatistical information as required.

Education and Development

Attendrelevant and mandatory training as required.

Attendprofessional meetings as required.

Maintainknowledge of current ABL Health policy, procedures and guidance.

Demonstratethe acquisition and application of knowledge in line with current research andevidence-based practice.

Undertaketraining relevant to your role and responsibilities and promote a positivelearning environment.

Coordinatepreceptorship and mentorship as required.

Participatein regular supervision, engage in reflective practice and be committed tocontinued development.

Developown skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others.

Research and audit

Undertakeand participate in appropriate audit, quality assurance programmes and researchas directed.

Toidentify the need for and to contribute to audit within areas of expertise. Touse research methodology for specific audits.

Toparticipate in and contribute to research at local and regional levels asappropriate.

Person Specification

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

The ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise workload and demonstrate effective management of clinical caseload. Strong literacy and report writing skills, with excellent accuracy and attention to detail. Effective computer literacy skills, including use of Microsoft Office.

Experience

Essential

Qualification or experience in supervising others. Experience working with young people with a range of complex needs. Experience working at NHS Band 7 or equivalent level.

Desirable

Experience of work with children in a CAMHS or other healthcare setting, 2 years + post qualification experience

Qualifications

Essential

Doctorate (or equivalent) in Psychology. UK HCPC Registration. Qualification or experience in supervising others.

Desirable

BPS Chartered.
