It is an exciting time to join the Housing service at Enfield Council, as we prepare to open a new, purpose built, Extra Care Scheme, Reardon Court in Winchmore Hill. Reardon Court has been developed to meet the needs of older adults with care and support needs and a will require an Extra Care Scheme Manager to provide the day to day housing management of this new exemplar scheme. The scheme will provide 70 self contained flats along with excellent communal facilities, on-site carers, as well as intensive housing support, which the Extra Care Scheme manager will provide.

Enfield Council is committed to providing comprehensive support services to empower our residents to live independently and thrive in their homes and have developed Reardon Court to extend and complement the existing housing provision for older people within the borough. A multi-disciplinary team were involved, including representatives from housing, property, social care and third sector partners, to ensure the scheme provides good quality, accessible homes for residents.

The Extra Care Scheme Manager is a crucial role and provides a great opportunity to deliver effective, high-quality, day to day management of the scheme, providing support to residents, ensuring the scheme is maintained to a high standard and liaising with the care provider and voluntary sector partners to develop a vibrant community within Reardon Court. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical experience, interpersonal skills and personal qualities, including resilience and adaptability, empathy and compassion and excellent organisational skills. Previous experience working in a similar role within the housing or social care sector, preferably in an Extra Care setting, is required, along with knowledge of tenancy management and relevant legislation in the sector. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents and colleagues and work as part of a wider team is essential.
