Our Skills for Work and Living department is dedicated to empowering learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed for independent living and meaningful employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to the individual needs of learners with SEND.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to engage and motivate students.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Work closely with the Skills for Work and Living team to ensure a collaborative approach to learning.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum to meet the needs of all learners.

Contract Types:

This position offers a wide range of contract types, including temporary, full-time, and part-time options to fit around your lifestyle. The minimum hours that can be offered is 16 hours per week, with full-time positions ranging from 24-30 hours per week depending on location. This is a term time only position, payment is based on the hours worked. In this arrangement, the pay is directly linked to the amount of time invested in work responsibilities. Holiday and time spent off from work is NOT paid.

Payment is on a monthly basis and is one month in arrears. It is paid via PAYE therefore tax and NI is deducted where applicable. Statutory holiday is accrued for every hour worked. All holiday pay is paid at the same time as your normal monthly pay for hours worked.

About You:

  • A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with learners with SEND in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND frameworks, strategies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and supportive approach to teaching.
  • Flexibility to work full-time or part-time hours, depending on your availability.
