Job summary

We arecurrently recruiting a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker, 23 hours a week, to bepart of our team at Pershore Community Hospital, which has an inpatient wardwith 26 beds. The candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary team(MDT) to achieve specific rehabilitation goals. This will be a challenging andexciting opportunity and will enable the individual to develop new and existingskills.

PershoreCommunity Hospital plays a critical role in the delivery of local NHS services,providing more care and treatment closer to peoples homes. Emphasis is toreduce length of stay whilst ensuring excellent care which is safe, effective,personalised and compassionate and to the standards you would expect for yourfamily and friends.

Thisrole requires you to have current right to work in the UK which enables you toundertake the role without need of sponsorship. Given the current UKimmigration regulations this role is not eligible for sponsorship and thereforeit is not possible for the Trust to sponsor applicants.

Main duties of the job

Assist withadmitting patients to the ward and the care of their relatives Undertake clinicalprocedures following assessment of competencies by qualified senior members ofstaff Carry outdelegated nursing care Act as health Provide safeand effective care Identifiesareas for the improvement Assistpatients with attending to the activities of daily living and support thetherapy team with the rehabilitation of the patient. Assist patients tosit up or out for breakfast. Serve and preparemeals/breakfast and drinks, help to assist patients when required. Completeappropriate paperwork food diaries and fluid balance charts. Assist patientswith morning personal care and dressing. Mobilise patientsusing correct mobility equipment when required/liaise with physiotherapy team. Liaise with nursingstaff for information regarding Observations, catheters, lab samples, bloodsugar monitoring, dressings and further health checks. Carry out patientweekly assessments which involve weighing, clean and check mattress, catheterbag change when required. Stores to berestocked daily. Assist patientswith toileting. Assist to supportpatients to bed/ attach catheter night bags when required. Comply with policiesand procedures of the ward.
