Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Master Scheduler to join our team in Cheltenham.

This is a position within the Planning & Scheduling department and will report directly to the Director of Planning & Governance. They will be responsible for all supply forecasting activities and to provide the agreed business plan for the next 3-36 months to all functions.

This role is the long-term supply integration point to Planning Director, Planning, Sales & Marketing team, Customer Service, Commercial and Project/program management functions of the business, they will lead the dialogue each month to agree the business plan and align with the Production Managers to enable successful execution of the supply plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for all aspects of planning strategically in operations.
  • Lead S&OP supply planning, scenario planning and rough-cut capacity plans
  • Conduct rough cut capacity and scenario planning to validate and present data and analytics to support decision making.
  • Lead and execute the supply planning process for PCS, ensuring alignment to the business strategy.
  • Accountable for creation, maintenance, and overall reporting performance of Master Schedules
  • Provide an effective, efficient supply plan for each bid while considering existing bids.
  • Input into delivering the operations financial forecast. Maintenance and analysis of these forecasts required.
  • Oversee customer order and project demand contract review activities.
  • Responsible for smooth transitions of NPI into production ensuring minimal schedule and cost disruption.
  • Develop and communicate product inventory strategies, risk assessments and mitigation to the business.
  • Oversee supply planning and management processes for new and existing products
  • Accountable for initial entry and responsibility for maintenance of planning related IFS ERP settings.
  • Responsibility for PMRP/MRP and CRP outside the execution window.
  • Involved in product lifecycle development and identifying opportunities.
  • Ensure effective and achievable lead/lag measures and objectives are established.
  • Provide accurate reporting of manufacturing against our bid models or expected costs.
  • Actively manage the planning/scheduling risk register alongside the production managers.
  • Establish clear standards and approach specific to scheduling.
  • Support external or internal auditing to demonstrate our compliance to process and working practices.
  • Support and where appropriate lead investigations into determining the root cause of delays.
  • Create initial base forecasts, developed from sales history and trend analysis
  • Apply business intelligence gathered from Sales, Marketing and Customer relationships
  • Basic forecast modelling, scenario planning and supporting stock policy reviews in all areas of the business
  • Create short to long term forecasts for all manufactured and 'Purchase for resale' products through use of statistical forecasting tools
  • Collaborate with colleagues to apply market knowledge and customer intelligence to statistical forecasts
  • Maintain forecasts and analyse changes between forecast versions
  • Proactively seek information to improve forecasts
  • Develop forecast accuracy measures, and ensure they are included within S&OP reviews
  • Undertake root cause analysis to understand forecast accuracy
  • Develop Weekly/Monthly sales v forecast reports
  • Ensure key stakeholders are updated on key overselling and underselling lines
  • Support product availability review process through creation of demand/supply models
  • Support with regular reviews of stock levels

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Computer literate and experienced in using ERP functions, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint office tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency in forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
  • Working knowledge of S&OP and the demand planning process.
  • Experienced and effective communicator at all levels, experience engaging and presenting to senior level professionals.
  • Clear understanding of business functions, responsibilities and opportunities.

Desirable:

  • Licenses/Certificates:
    • Oliver Wight S&OP Training or equivalent
    • APICS or other planning Certification preferred
  • Experience of IFS ERP system
  • Ability to influence and support key business stakeholders
  • Ability to challenge current embedded culture and ways of working
  • Understanding the commercial drivers of business and how they impact the P&L
  • Data driven with the ability to analyse and resolve problems.
