Main duties of the job

To participate in the provision of a specialised decontamination of Endoscopy services contributing to the timeliness of patient care.

To supervise a team to perform a full range of decontamination duties.

Manages Decontamination records in own area of work.

Provide a high quality and timely service to all users of the decontamination suite.

To ensure Departmental Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to by all decontamination technicians and staff in accordance with Quality Management Systems.

Plan your own workload and work with minimal supervision.

The role involves exposure to blood and body fluids, and COSHH.

Job responsibilities

Maths Functional Skills Level 2 English Functional Skill Level 2 Decontamination Related subject

Desirable

Maths GCSE Level 4 and above English GCSE Level 4 and above NVQ 3 in health related/Decontamination Subject

Experience

Essential

Recent Endoscopy Decontamination Experience Evidence of recent studies in decontamination and infection prevention standards

Desirable

Experience of Supervising staff Knowledge of Endoscopy reprocessing, decontamination and associated policies
