Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the existing nursing team on Ward A4 in the Trust. Proven experience in Care of the Elderly/Rehab is essential.

We are searching for a dynamic, highly motivated and passionate individual committed to high quality patient care. The post holder must have a flexible approach, and being committed to delivering high standards of patient focused care are essential requirements of the post. The post holder will be required to demonstrate professional attributes, including, diversity, dealing with change, and be able to work autonomously and effectively within the multidisciplinary team.

The post will provide an excellent opportunity for a nurse to display excellent interpersonal and communication skills across the ward and Division of Medicine.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Band 7 Sister with the co-ordination of the ward and leading a skilled workforce to implement changes that will see an improvement to patient pathways.

We are looking for people who have excellent clinical and leadership skills, who can make decisions and be a role model for the nursing workforce.

Main duties of the job

The Sister/Charge Nurse will, by example and facilitation, guide, assist and empower nursing staff in fulfilling their professional role using research-based practice.

Identify strengths and weaknesses of individual clinical practitioners and liaise with Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to construct an appropriate development programme.

Support the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in the day-to-day management of the ward.

This is a senior Nursing role within the organisation and there is an expectation that the post holder will fully contribute to the leadership and delivery of high quality patient care within the speciality field of Respiratory Medicine.

Proven experience at Band 5 Scope roles relevant to speciality Evidence of Ward/Department management under supervision Development of knowledge and skills in speciality.

Eligibility / Qualifications / Training

Essential

RN with current registration Up-to-date knowledge of professional issues. Demonstrate professional post-registration development

Post Registration educational development Participation in management development courses.

Interpersonal Skills

Demonstrate good verbal communication skills with multidisciplinary team/clients/relatives Demonstrate the ability to deliver educational and clinical skills training
