Rugby Ontario is actively searching for a talented and ambitious individual who is passionate about the field of sport management, wants to apply their knowledge and experience and support a vision of Rugby for All.

Reporting to the Director, Rugby Operations, the Coordinator, Partnerships & Events assist in the planning, logistics, administration, and execution of all Rugby Ontario events from leagues and competitions and a marquee fundraising event, Rugby in the Square, to the Hall of Fame & Annual Awards banquet. This position provides a critical and fundamental service to support the growth of rugby in Ontario through the creation and delivery of exciting events and partnerships. The Coordinator will also support the organization in the areas of sponsorship/partnership development, fundraising and other forms of revenue generation.

Compensation & Benefits

Upon joining the team, you will receive;

$42,-$47, per annum, based on experience; Comprehensive health and dental benefits; 2 weeks of paid time off annually; Full-time salaried position, standard business hours (9 am – 5 pm). The nature and scope of this position may, from time to time, require, particularly through extended periods of the year, the need for work to be scheduled outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends with a willingness to travel when required. Hybrid work environment – remote four days a week, in office minimum of one day a week in the Rugby Ontario office. (Office Address: Abilities Centre, 1 Jim Flaherty Street, Whitby ON L1N 0J2)

What you’ll be doing

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Promotion and communication of Rugby Ontario events. Facilitate the planning, coordination, and execution of all Rugby Ontario events. Work with the Director, Rugby Operations to develop administrative documents and event processes. Manage and execute the annual Rugby Ontario events (Hall of Fame & Annual Awards, Rugby in the Square, competition/championship events, etc.). Build and maintain strong working relationships with volunteers, athletes, match officials, coaches, parents, and partners. Coordinate with the execution of operational planning, budgeting, and expense tracking. Supports the planning and execution of Provincial/High-Performance representative program events, as required by the department’s staff leads. Support sponsorship and partnership servicing, procurement and general duties related to sales and business development support. Coordinate and strengthen relationships with existing partners. Day-to-day coordination of all partner requests and programs, including the organization of activation programs and promotional activities. Facilitate the development of pitch decks and proposals for prospective partners. Execute detailed tracking and reporting of Rugby Ontario and partner relationships and activities. Oversee key partner and supplier accounts, including equipment/supply orders and VIK. Survey design and analysis for event outcomes and partnership evaluations. Other duties as assigned by the Director, Rugby Operations and / or Chief Executive Officer

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

A post-secondary level of education in a related field of study (i.e. Sports Management, Recreation, Event Planning/Management, Community Development) Prior experience working in a sports organization Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills Exceptional planning, analytical and reporting skills Self-directed and results-oriented with the ability to multi-task and problem-solve Proficient computer skills using both Mac and PC and Microsoft Office Ability to work within a flexible schedule and in a remote work environment setting Demonstrated strong values and ethics, in accordance with Rugby Ontario’s organizational values (and other Rugby Ontario policies), through personal and professional behaviours Demonstrated experience working with and supporting volunteers and/or in customer service Current, clear criminal record check for the vulnerable sector required Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Valid Driver’s License and the ability/willingness to travel.

Nice-to-haves

Knowledge of Rugby Ontario and the Ontario rugby community is an asset but not essential
