  • Toad Hall Nursery was established in 1998. Our 77 place nursery in Berkhamsted is a short walk away from the lovely town centre which has a range of beautiful shops, boutiques and an array of coffee shops and restaurants. The nursery is close to transport links, having a local bus stop and Train Station which is 15 minutes’ walk away. There is a car park available for employees and families to use. The nursery is next door to a Leisure Centre, perfect for a swim or gym session before or after your working day. In 2018, our team were very proud to be awarded a ‘Good’ OFSTED rating.

  • Our 100 place nursery is located on the outskirts of the town centre situated in a friendly neighbourhood community, giving you that ‘home from home’ feel. It is just over a mile away from the train station with local convenience shops within a 2 mile radius from the nursery. This setting provides a car park outside the nursery for employees to use. In 2017, our team were awarded a ‘Good’ OFSTED rating.

For our exciting full time, Level 3 Nursery Nurse positions (40 hours a week) the salary is up to £26,000+ per annum. We are also recruiting for part time and zero hour contract positions, to support the nurseries.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Working together with the rest of the team to provide high quality care for children aged 0-5.
  • Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery by adhering to the relevant policies and procedures.
  • Using your knowledge, experience and imagination to come up with new ideas and activities.
  • Building relationships with children and communicating well with their parents.
  • Making sure every working day is fun

Your qualifications and experience:

  • Suitable qualifications: an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, and the ability to refer to the EYFS Framework when planning activities.
  • To be aware of the role of planning, observation and keeping records when caring for nursery aged children.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and meeting their needs.
  • A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
