Whilst the reporting line will be to the Head of EMEA Portfolio Claims, to whom they will provide support as needed, SCOR operates a matrix management operating model so liaison with all key stakeholders is essential.
As a Senior Claims Adjuster, you will proactively manage, to conclusion, claims within your remit, and where applicable, lead any co-insurance partners in resolving claims of various levels of complexity. This will include compliance with claims guidelines as well as the setting and advising of case strategy.
SCOR utilises a panel of preferred TPA’s and vendors so expert management forms a key part of this role. As a Senior Claims Adjuster, you will assist with the training and development of the Claims Adjusters to ensure that they embed the knowledge and experience required to fulfil their role effectively. The role will also require you to assist the Head of EMEA Portfolio Claims in the delivery of the overall claims team objectives.
There will be a bias towards North American Property Claims, although the role will include handling of claims from other areas within the Specialty business segments well as liaison with Practice Leaders from other segments.
Deliver expert claims adjusting to SCOR Specialty, specialising in USA property, adhering to SCOR Best Practices and Claims Handling procedures & protocols Report on operational performance and establish a culture of continuous improvement to support the overall claims strategy of providing a Centre of Excellence in claims Take an active role in advising SCOR underwriters and actuaries providing insight and support to assist in the development of the book of business Work with and independently of underwriting to develop and maintain client relationships and be responsible for key accounts Represent SCOR and the claims department internally and externally including review meetings with brokers and/or policy holders Manage the volatility of a portfolio of claims through early, accurate reserving, focussing on target outcomes with the customer in mind. Work within SCOR ethical and service standards as well as fulfilling compliance and regulatory requirements Where required, deputise for management Manage the end to end process regardless of the method of placement e.g. Open Market, Delegated Claims handling or direct settlement.. Participate in relevant market events / initiatives on behalf of SCOR
Several years of experience in a Senior Claims Adjuster role demonstrating expertise in first party Property. In depth knowledge of the Lloyd’s, UK, and European Markets The candidate must be able to demonstrate a track record of consistent and continuing success within the claims. Specialist technical capability with applied practical and commercial business skills. Excellent communicator both externally and internally within the business Client relationship management – ability to show credibility with and able to build strong relationships with underwriters and senior executives Organised – self and others Analytical and strategic thinking Strong attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracy to deliver high standards of work Influencing and negotiation - relying on persuasiveness, focussed on outcomes Team contributor and relationship builder Good report writing skills Expertise of claims handling within the USA Property market . Additional UK and/or International experience is an advantage. The ability to develop an understanding and detailed knowledge of specialist product lines. Collaborative working style
