What we’re looking for…


This role requires a multi-skilled Engineer with a strong mechanical bias. One constant is our focus on safety - this is our number one priority. You will support our technical teams to ensure that we have optimum engineering solutions to meet our ambitious manufacturing objectives. You will ensure that all machinery and equipment is installed, maintained and operated to maximise production output and efficiencies, recommending and implementing improvements where necessary. You will carry out fault diagnosis and repair breakdowns. You will also be required to analyse line efficiency, wastage and downtime data with a view to identifying areas for performance improvement.

What we are looking for…

The successful candidate will ideally be educated to HNC level in an electrical engineering related discipline with significant engineering experience of maintenance systems within a complex high speed production unit, FMCG or food manufacturing environment. Experience of lean manufacturing would be advantageous.

City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in a Mechanical/Electrical engineering discipline ONC/ BTEC Level 3 or equivalent Mechanical/Electrical engineering discipline Time served/ Apprentice trained  Previous experience of working in an Engineering/Maintenance department - preferably within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment. Ability to fault find, diagnose and correct Electrical and Mechanical equipment faults and implement appropriate measures to prevent recurrence. Proven knowledge and experience of initiating and implementing continuous improvements, lean manufacturing and Six sigma techniques. Knowledge of industrial control systems and PLC’s - preferably Siemens Attention to detail - with a real focus on accuracy, will work hard to ensure a right first time approach and will have the ability to spot discrepancies and inaccuracies with ease. Problem-solver - tenacious and will use creativity, innovation and an analytical approach to exhaust all options until a satisfactory solution is found. Strong IT skills. Proactive and positive can-do attitude.
