Learning Support Assistant Secondary

Location: England, Greater London, Wandsworth

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £95 - £120 Per day

Job Description:Job Duties:
  • Provide support to secondary school students with special educational needs
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students
  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Help create a conducive learning environment for students to achieve their full potential
  • Offer one-to-one or small group support to students as required
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant experience working with children or young adults
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
Education:
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Additional training in special educational needs is desirable
Experience:
  • Experience working in a similar role within a school setting
  • Understanding of the UK education system and curriculum
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of different learning difficulties and strategies to support them
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed
Preferred Qualifications:
  • First Aid certification
  • Additional qualifications in child development or special educational needs
Working Conditions:
  • Standard school hours with potential for additional hours for extracurricular activities
  • Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents
  • Opportunity for professional development and training
