About Star Central

Star Central, which is based at our head office in Blackburn, Lancashire, provides leadership, strategic direction and support to Star Academies, Star Institute and our schools.

The Star Central team includes experts from a range of professional backgrounds, who work together to provide an outstanding support service to the Star community. We support our schools to provide educational and operational excellence and to cultivate a strong Star community, with the aim of nurturing today’s young people and inspiring tomorrow’s leaders.

About the role

This is an exciting and new opportunity to work with a dynamic and ambitious team across the Star Teaching School Hub Network and their partnership with the National Institute of Teaching. The Hubs support the DfE’s recruitment and retention strategy by delivering highly effective training and development to schools.

The position requires someone with exceptional organisational skills and experience of working within the education sector who can support the growth of the TSHs’ ‘Golden Thread’ offer of Initial Teacher Education, Early Career Framework programme, National Professional Qualifications and Appropriate Body Service. The role will involve providing administrative support to the TSHs’ senior team and working across a range of interesting and varied projects.

Who we’re looking for

The position would appeal to an enthusiastic, engaging and articulate candidate who can work independently and effectively support a wider team with a range of projects.

You will have experience of administration across a range of settings, ideally including within education, and the ability to think and act proactively within the scope of the role to identify solutions and support the success of the wider team. The successful candidate will be able to prioritise a busy workload to consistently meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work and attention to detail and accuracy.

You will have:

Experience of working in an administrative setting, including supporting senior staff A pro-active approach that focuses on solutions The ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, supporting multiple teams and moving between projects based on the needs of the organisation. The ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues, partners and the wider Star community. Strong commitment to the Trust values of ‘Service’, ‘Teamwork’, ‘Ambition’ and ‘Respect’
