We are looking for a registered Nursing Associate to work as part of Nursing team at JHC for sexual health and Kobler Outpatients HIV service. This involves assisting the Multi professional team in the delivery of a high standard of care to patients attending for Sexual, reproductive and HIV health ideal candidate will already have knowledge and a passion for Sexual Health and sexually transmitted infections. The role will involve both the face-to-face interactions with patients along side the nursing team.
Other aspects include housekeeping and administration duties which involve overseeing the maintenance of a safe environment for both patients and staff.
As a Nursing Associate you will have a role in the mentoring and leadership of more junior members of the team.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Nursing Associate is to be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse for patients attending for sexual, reproductive and HIV health care. With a focus on promoting health. The role encompasses clinical duties including direct patient care and having the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individuals care plan. To work flexibly within both Kobler/John Hunter Clinic. Be an accountable professional, working within the parameters of the Nurse Associate role (as per NMC guidance), and your scope of competence, accessing clinical and care advice as needed. Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction of a registered nurse or other registered healthcare professional, dependent on the setting. Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS and the Trust PROUD values. Other aspects include housekeeping and administration duties which involve overseeing the maintenance of a safe environment for both patients and staff. Work in line with Trust policies, objectives, protocols and local guidelines, whilst also being aware of the importance of their role in supporting members of the team, and always adhering to the Trust values, and in accordance with NMC regulations.

Patient Care/Clinical Practice
Work as part of a designated clinical team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the patient.Contribute to the planning of care delivery in association with the Registered Nurse.
Contribute to on-going assessments recognising when it is necessary to refer to others for reassessment and action.
Demonstrate the ability to recognise the deteriorating patient or other situations that require escalation to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice.
Implement and evaluate individual care / treatment plans.
Improve the quality of care by contributing to the continuous monitoring of patients care.
Accept delegated responsibility from the Registered Nurse to monitor individual plans of care to meet the immediate and on-going needs of patients.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
Registered Nursing Associate Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills
Desirable
Knowledge/skills within sexual health and HIV Evidence of comprehensive professional development in sexual health including relevant specialist courses/training Sexual Health Course including STIF
Experience
Essential
Demonstrable experience within an NHS clinical role role/setting and/or equivalent experience providing customer care Evidence of practice development competent in cervical cytology Experience of utilising evidence in practice Evidence of working with staff from different professional disciplines Experience of telephone work and recall with patients
Desirable
Autonomously managing asymptomatic patients to manage their care To have a basic knowledge of STI's and HIV. Managing young people in collaboration with Registered Nurse and any associated safeguarding issues Assessment of MSM patients including health promotion/advice (vaccinations/PEP/PrEP) Experience of delivering routine PrEP Clinical experience in HIV/GUM field including vaccinations
