Job Summary

You will assist the Engineering stores manager in the day to day running and organisation of the Engineering Stores. Ensuring the availability of stock items for Port staff and to facilitate the receiving of goods for delivery.

Duties of the Post Holder

- Taking deliveries and checking accuracy to delivery notes and orders, recording the receiving of deliveries in the Port of Dover Computer system.

- Store received materials in the correct location and reporting any discrepancies or missing items.

- Issue stock items to Port of Dover employees and recording transactions in the Ports computer system.

- Dealing with enquiries relating to stores stock, deliveries and status of orders.

- Reordering items as and when required to maintain stock to the required levels.

- Unloading of deliveries on arrival at the stores.

- Maintain the stores areas and compounds in a safe, clean and tidy condition.

- Processing nonstock items delivered to the stores and arranging for collection/delivery to the appropriate area.

- Arrange for disposal of hazardous goods including required notification.

- Preparation of material orders for distribution to workshop.

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience of working within a stores/ warehouse environment

• Good written and numerical skills

• Excellent MS Office knowledge and experience

• Ability to work with limited supervision and organise day to day tasks required

• Have good interpersonal skill and be able to deal with enquiries and requests effectively

• Good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

• Overhead crane Slinger/Signaller Operator (desirable) full training can/will be given

• Forklift licence (desirable) full training can/will be given
