Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join ourHealth & Wellbeing team at Bishop Auckland Hospital contributing to thesuccessful delivery of objectives set out in the associated action plans linkedto health and wellbeing and staff engagement which are designed to create ahealthy, motivated and engaged workforce.

Main duties of the job

As part of facilitating our health, wellbeing and engagementoffer, this role will involve providing administrative support, including basicdata analysis, audits, surveys, event and meeting management and involvement inmedia campaign planning.

This role will also assist insupporting, coordinating, organising, facilitating the TRiM programme and otherpossible activities in relation to the wellbeing and engagement of our staff.

Working alongside the Health & Wellbeing Advisor, thepostholder will help ensure that a flexible and proactive health, wellbeing andengagement function is provided.

The postholder will assist in the organisation of a range ofactivities aimed at ensuring our workforce are able to operate effectively byadopting and maintaining a fit and healthy mental and physical life both atwork and in their personal lives.

To contribute to the positive engagement of ourstaff through the provision of a comprehensive health, wellbeing and engagementoffer of TRiM.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Support the development and delivery of the Trusts Healthand Wellbeing framework, with a specific focus on improving the health andwellbeing of staff through Health and Wellbeing programmes and interventions.

Support the development, administration and delivery ofHealth and Wellbeing activities, providing advice and guidance ensuring thatthe Trust follows current best practice in terms of Health and Wellbeingprogrammes.

Support the development and evaluation of wellbeing andhealth improvement activities. Measuring, evaluating and understanding theeffectiveness of activities by supporting detailed workplace wellbeing auditsand surveys, analysing the results and developing needs-specific services.

Prepare regular data reports, analysing data asrequired. Collate findings and draftreports from audits and surveys and ensure that key points are fed back to teammembers as required.

Analyse information and check progress against agreedtargets highlighting where improvements may be required

Assist in identifying issues and themes which would be ofrelevance to the team from a data / research perspective carrying out desk topresearch on key issues as required.

Build an understanding of the health, wellbeing andengagement agenda and keep updated on all issues/areas of knowledge relevant tothe post.

Maintain a Wellbeingdatabase to ensure accurate records and the appropriate storing of informationof all Health & Wellbeing activity including safe storage ofsensitive/confidential information obtained as part of the TRiM work.

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to ensure that allproject deadlines and ambitions are met.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships acrossthe Trust based on mutual respect and civility.

Deal with enquiries to the Healthand Wellbeing team exercising judgement when dealing with enquiries to signpostand support staff as needed.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent demonstrable experience within secretarial/administrative working area or educated to A level or equivalent demonstrable experience. Evidence of continuous professional development

Special Requirements

Ability to travel across Trust sites to meet the requirements of the post as needed.

Experience

Essential

Knowledge and experience working in a fast-paced team environment, ideally within a public sector organisation, dealing with non-routine issues such as problem-solving. Experience in handling data and basic level of data analysis. Experience in organising meetings and relevant papers and agendas for meetings. Experience of organising several projects and juggling competing priorities. Experience of working across a team providing support to a number of team members on a range of topics. Highly motivated and with a positive outlook.

Desirable

Experience in monitoring project delivery. Experience in drafting surveys and collating responses and drafting reports. Experience in events management.

Special Skills and Knowledge

Essential

Keyboard skills for regular use of computer systems. Proficient IT skills including good working knowledge of full Microsoft Office Suite and Windows Operating Systems. Skilled verbal and written communicator with demonstrable interpersonal skills. Able to present a positive and professional image at all times. Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised but with access to a line manager. Excellent organisational skills. Confident when interacting with senior stakeholders. Ability to work with and analyse basic data sets. Ability to carry out desk research and turn this into draft reports. Ability to manage competing priorities while ensuring deadlines are met. Ability to work unsupervised and manage own workload; work on own initiative and as part of a team. Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion.

Desirable

Knowledge of the NHS health and wellbeing agenda. Knowledge of the staff engagement and workforce experience agenda.
