Job summary

Working closely with ourCommunity Nursing Teamyoullbe expected to perform phlebotomy duties as directed by the GP/Community Nursing Team, be able to give appropriate advice to patients undergoing blood tests and maintain clear, contemporaneous records. At all times youll care forthe patients and their families in the way thatyou believe is best, delivering our high service standards, sharing bestpractice, and actively improving the way we work.

You will be expected to have previous experience in phlebotomy and have completed a structured theoretical and practical assessment on venepuncture. You will need to have the ability to travel across a wide geographical area, therefore applicants must be a car driver/ also have strong communication and organisation skills, and a flexible approach which will ensureyou deliver positive experiences to patientsat every stage of theirhealthcare journey.

This role is for hours a week working Wednesday - Friday in the community.

As this role is a community role you will require a driving license and access to a car for work purposes.

Main duties of the job

To deal with patients, who are having blood sample taken in a professional and courteous manner. To report any problems to the Team Leaderor GP for advice or remedial action. To maintain confidentiality at all times. To maintain accuracy of patient identification on blood bottles. Ensure that contemporaneous records are maintained. Ensure that patients confidentiality is maintained and that Caldicott principles are adhered to. Maintain standards of care in line with clinical policies and procedures. To take responsibility for personal protection and safe working environment. Act in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act Ensure that incidents are reported in a timely manner To adhere to HCRG care group policies and procedures. As a member of the nursing team contribute to service development. Participate in clinical supervision Attend Mandatory study days

You will have good experience of working in healthcare as a Phlebotomist.

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages Outlook, Word, Excel.

As this role is a community role you will require a driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
