We are currently looking for a Staff Nurse to join our Urology Investigation Unit at Worthing Hospital on a part time basis.
As a Staff Nurse you will be responsible for the direct clinical care of patients within the urology investigation unit. You will assist with the provision of the outpatient services within the UIU involving clinics, and outpatient procedures (eg flexible cystoscopy, precision point biopsies etc).
You will assist with the most effective use of resources and manpower and participate in the planning and development of the service in accordance with the Trusts policies and procedures.
We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
Main duties of the job
Provide high quality evidence based clinical care to patients, in line with the Trust values and in accordance with professional regulations. Work with others to protect and promote the health and wellbeing of those in your care, their families and carers, and the wider community To work in line with Trust policies, objectives, protocols and local guidelines To act as a role model communicating in line with Trust values, to patients, carers and the staff at all times. Accept delegated responsibility for specific activities/areas from the senior nurse in charge, recognising and working within the limits of your competence. To provide assistance to clinicians in urology outpatient procedures. Take every opportunity to continue to maintain and develop your own practice. Facilitate students and others to develop their competence through supervision, teaching and role modelling.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Ensure that all planning and delivery of nursing care incorporates the Trust values and Vision, and reflects best evidence based practice Ensure that all patients have appropriate individualised, clinical assessments Ensure that all patients/clients’ needs are identified and programmes of care are implemented to meet individual patient and client needs. Ensure that best practice in care is delivered. Review the effectiveness of the nursing care provided and initiate any action that may be required Maintain accurate and effective record keeping Be responsible for the control and custody of all medication and drugs in accordance with Trust Policy.
