SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Caldicot.

Start date: 20nd September 2024.

Hours: 830am-330pm

Pay Rates: From £77 per day.

Teaching personnel are working with a Secondary School in Caldicot to find the right candidate for a teaching assistant role. The role will involve working with a pupil on a 1:1 basis within their SEN base in the school. The ages of the children range between This may range between 11-18 and you will be working with pupils with ASD, SEMH, ADHD SLD and BESD.

You will need to be proactive and have experience with children with additional learning needs. This can be from a support role, personal experience or as a Teaching Assistant.  

‘SEN teaching assistants will form close bonds with the pupils they support and will be there to help them succeed and to witness their successes.’

 

Roles

-          Prepare learning materials and support the teacher.

-          Create a friendly welcoming environment where the pupils can thrive.

-          You should be reliable.

-          Able to build relationships with pupils and make them feel comfortable.

-          Take part in training and other activities offered by the school.

-          Help children understand daily activities and develop understanding.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS cleared & on the update service. (Or willing to apply)
  • Be able to provide 2 of your most recent references.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have up to date safeguarding training or willing to take it. (Provided for free by Teaching Personnel)

Teaching Personnel can offer CPD for all our candidates as well as some additional courses such as safeguarding and de-escalation.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
