Main duties of the job

Gwelfor Ward is an 18 bedded all male high dependency mental health rehabilitation unit. Gwelfor follows the principles of recovery and rehabilitation with a keen focus on patients own individual recovery journeys.

The role of the healthcare support worker is to promote the ethos of the ward of rehabilitation and recovery, focusing on promoting independence, individuality and holistic care.

As a healthcare support worker you will be required to assist patients with their activities of daily living, promoting well being and independence alongside helping patients recover from mental illness through a range of therapies and activities.

Gwelfor Ward is centred around the aim to help people recover in their own individual way and support patients in their mental health recovery journey.

A keen interest in mental health, particularly rehabilitation is key for this role in order to support our patients in the best way possible.
