Join Our Team as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Priory Nelson House

Are you a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist seeking an opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives? At Priory Nelson House, we are looking for a compassionate and experienced mental health professional to join our multidisciplinary team, delivering outstanding care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

As the Medical Director at Nelson House, you will be involved in the line management and supervision of medical colleagues. You will be expected to engage in various clinical governance and quality improvement activities, as well as chairing Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) meetings.

In your role as Medical Director, you will be a link between the hospital and Priory as a whole. You will have contact with the service line team, Regional Managing Director, Clinical Director and Chief Medical Officer. You will also carry out appraisals for colleagues, investigations and support with audits.

You will also be involved in discussions with external stakeholders, helping to promote the hospital and the great service it provides to patients

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:

Lead clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure integrated and effective care. Engage in regular meetings and case reviews, providing guidance and clinical expertise. Contribute to the development of the mental health care program and participate in clinical governance activities.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications: CCT in General Adult Psychiatry and full GMC registration.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally within a similar inpatient setting.

Skills: A compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

Passion: A commitment to improving mental health outcomes and enhancing quality of life for our patients.
