This is a permanent post across parts of Portsmouth/East Hampshire. We work Mon-Fri, with no evening/weekend working.

We are looking for a pro-active physiotherapist who has a range of experience working with infants/children with physical difficulties. The successful candidate will join an integrated therapy team working with families, other health professionals, education/social care agencies. As part of a multi-disciplinary/multiagency team, you will provide services for children with a variety of conditions gaining experience across various settings including schools, nurseries & clinics. The post holder will be supported to develop their clinical & management skills. We support training through internal/external opportunities.

The essential qualities we are looking for are:

* BSc/Diploma in Physiotherapy or equivalent

* Good communication skills

* HCPC Registration

* Car driver/owner

Main duties of the job

To provide a specialist Physiotherapy Service to children and young people on the caseload some of whom may have complex needs.

To work as an autonomous practitioner, in collaboration with health, education staff, children/young people and their parents, to deliver integrated specialised packages of care to children with complex physical needs.

To provide support and mentoring to less experience colleagues.

To train students, other healthcare professionals and staff from other agencies who work with children with physical difficulties.

About us

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by July 2024.Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on 1st July 2024. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

BSC Hons Physiotherapy degree or equivalent. Registered member CSP. HCPC Registration.

Experience

Essential

Proven experience as a physiotherapist. Broad knowledge and experience working in specialities of neurological, respiratory and musculoskeletal. Experience of receiving clinical supervision. Experience of multi-disciplinary team work. Experience of working in a constantly changing environment.

Desirable

Experience of clinical supervision of students/physiotherapy assistants. Experience of developing and delivering training.
