We are pleased to be offering an opportunity to work with our successful Civil & Structural Engineering department and are open to various levels of experience from 2yrs +
Wardell Armstrong is currently instructed on several interesting projects across many different sectors of development including residential, commercial, industrial, and renewable energy. They range from small affordable housing site infrastructure to major mixed-use developments. We are also working with the Environment Agency and Local Authorities on flood risk management projects. Our work specifically relates to drainage and flood risk; however, you will be expected to work with other disciplines to help progress the overall project.
In this exciting role as a member of the team, you will
- Prepare flood risk assessments, surface water management plans, flood risk management plans and Flood Risk chapters to support Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) using available datasets, hydrological and hydraulic theories, calculations and computational models.
- Assess options and prepare designs for flood risk mitigation in accordance with industry guidance.
- Prepare surface water management plans and Sustainable Drainage designs from conceptual stage through to detailed design using industry standard software.
- Complete feasibility and pre-planning assessments.
- Visit and inspect project sites, attend client and stakeholder meetings.
- Write technical reports
- Assist with tenders and preparing fee proposals.
- Use various drainage design software
Ideally candidates will have similar experience to the above, including experience of managing projects and developing designs from appraisal to adoption. Competency with design software packages for drainage is required along with the ability to produce strategies, reports, and drawings. along with a degree in civil engineering or similar.
