JobPurpose

The IT Manager isresponsible for the maintenance and development of our ITinfrastructure and all associated contractual and procurementobligations as well as managing the IT Assistant.

The individual needs to be a selfmotivated anddriven technology expert with the ability to both meet and managethe everyday needs of the business and IT Team as well as havingthe acumen to prescribe and deliver valued improvements to thebusiness.

Principalaccountabilities/skills

The idealcandidate will have the following key skills and ability to managethese accountabilities or similar experience they believe can betransposed through additional training:

Azure: Proficiency in Azure infrastructuremanagement including but not limited to Virtual Desktops Azure ADand other Azure services.

Windows 11MultiUser VM: The ability to set up configure and managea Windows 11 multiuser VMenvironment.

Microsoft 365:Handson experience with the M365 suite especially concerningdeployment user management andlicensing.

Active DirectoryManagement: Knowledge in setting up maintaining andtroubleshooting Active Directory environments especially thoseintegrated with Azure AD and using AzureADConnect.

Network & VPNManagement: Proficiency in setting up managing andtroubleshooting network solutions including sitetosite VPNconfigurations. Familiarity with Sophos hardware firewall solutionsis beneficial.

Backup &Recovery: Experience with Azure Recovery Services Vaultand formulating backup and recovery strategies for both VMs anddata.

File Server Management:Skills in deploying configuring and maintaining file serversespecially in hybrid environments that combine cloud and localstorage solutions.

Virtual DesktopInfrastructure (VDI): Experience in setting up andmanaging VDI solutions particularly Azure VirtualDesktop.

Migration &Deployment: Experience in migrating data and systemsespecially with planning and executing live migration tasks out ofhours.


Desirableskills above these wouldinclude:

OpenGI: Familiarity with the Open GI Core Server OpenDocument Server Info Centre Plus and other

related Open GIcomponents.

OneDrive forBusiness: Understanding of how to integrate and utilizeOneDrive for Business in VDI and

otherenvironments.

Cybersecurity:Awareness of best practices in securing cloud environments andknowledge in configuring

and maintainingfirewall solutions.

ProjectManagement: Skills in leading IT projects from conceptionto completion ensuring all stakeholders

areupdated and involved.

Disaster RecoveryPlanning: Experience in formulating IT disaster recoveryplans and ensuring business

continuity in theface of unforeseen challenges.

EducationQualifications Knowledge Skills andExperience

BusinessAwareness: The ability to understand and manage IT vendorbilling and budgeting to ensure costeffective serviceutilization.

Communication:Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnicalstakeholders and collaborate with 3rd party IT partnerships on alevel playing field.

Customer Focus:Experience in managing relationships and contracts withIT vendors and solution providers. Ability to provide training andsupport to endusers ensuring they can effectively use deployed ITsolutions.
