An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Podiatrist to join our team at Birmingham Community Health Care NHS Foundation Trust. Newly graduated Podiatrist are encouraged to apply.

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us, we provide Podiatry services in a variety of settings including clinics, patients residence and community hospitals. You will be required to asses, treat and plan podiatry care for our diverse population.

There will be opportunities to rotate through our MSK, Wound and High risk clinics as well as prevention clinics, Domiciliary visits and Nail surgery sessions.

The role requires flexibility to work in a variety of locations across the trust. You will hold a Health Care Professions Council registration and will require access to a car and a valid driver's license.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for providing autonomous high quality podiatry assessment, treatment and forward planning for a wide range of patients who may be at risk with medical and social needs. You will have good organisation skills to enable you to complete your daily workload.

A successful candidate will have excellent communications skills and be able to develop good working relationships with patients, colleagues and members of the wider multidisciplinary teams.

You will be provided with mentorship to enable you to complete competencies in Nail surgery, MSK, Wound care and Prevention podiatry.

Job responsibilities

To be part of a highly motivated team, with mentorship working within a team and/or independently in both community and patients residence, providing high quality clinical care.

To develop and implement individualised care programmes for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs, including acute or chronic, neuropathies, chronic diseases, vascular problems, wound management, MSK and Nail Surgery.

The post holder will be expected to plan and manage the caseload with the mentorship and support of a senior podiatrists.

Instruct clients and carers, providing direction and guidance on a range of Podiatry interventions independently.

To assist colleagues with challenging clients or those with complex needs who require more than one person to treat.

To use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with clients, relatives and carers. This will include clients who may have difficulties in understanding or with barriers to communication.

To access computer systems for the timely recording of patient notes.

To submit accurate records of sickness, lieu time, study, expenses and annual leave.
