Leader Education are working in partnership with an independent SEMH Schools, based in the . We are recruiting for an experienced and qualified Maths Teacher to teach pupils who are identified as having Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. (SEMH, SEBD, BESD, EBD). This role is a temp to perm basis based on how well you work in the school, very high chance to go permanent and great career opportunity.

THE JOB

  • To teach a small class of students aged 10 - 16 all diagnosed with variants of SEMH issues.
  • To adhere to individualised learning plans
  • Update EHCP Plans
  • To manage and mentor a team of learning support workers
  • To be a proactive part of the teaching team
  • Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
  • Encourage and facilitate a learning experience providing students the opportunity to achieve.

Essential skills:

  • QTS / QTLS (This is mandatory)
  • Specialism in Maths
  • Able to be fun and handle banter with pupils and staff
  • Hardworking
  • Be able to work well on your own and as a team
  • Dynamic and resilient
  • Be passionate and committed to inclusive learning
  • Be patient and understanding
  • Be able to motivate and inspire
  • Have a genuine passion for SEND and /or SEMH
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a therapeutic and holistic approach
  • Be diverse with your lessons and be able to reach learners at varying levels and abilities

All successful applicants are subject to DBS and safeguarding checks and would start working through our agency whilst the school complete your compliance. There is the chance to go permanent.
