Sport Performance Officer

Student Operations and Support

Performance sport services at the University are evolving and this is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic fitness professional, with a proven track record of providing strength and conditioning services to performance sport athletes to coordinate advances in this area. You will need qualifications and experience delivering strength and conditioning and sports science services coupled with the ability to create mutually beneficial partnerships to contribute to service development and income generation 

Striving to enhance the student athlete experience through sport and physical activity, you will be working alongside a dedicated and talented team involved in facilities operation, sports development and athlete support. You will be responsible for providing performance sport services to sports scholars, our high-level student sports clubs and elite community partners whilst actively engaging in the training, development and monitoring of the performance sport intern and placement/volunteer students. 

In order to be successful in this role you will have: 

Knowledge and experience of coaching, developing and supporting performance sport athletes  Experience of building new relationships and creating sustainable partnerships  Be a UK Strength and Conditioning Accredited Coach (or have the ability to achieve within six months)  Experience of supporting sport club performance development; including setting performance targets, athlete education and collaborating with other performance sport practitioners  Experience of day-to-day line management of others and the co-ordination of student volunteers
