Job summary
The Nottingham Bioresource is a centralised, quality assured platform for enabling clinical and translational research in Nottingham. The Nottingham Bioresource is licensed under the Human Tissue Act and has ethical approval to collect, store, and release, a range of blood, fluid and tissue samples for research.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be:
Responsible for the NUH NHS Bioresource, including Operational management and leadership of departmental resources, technical services, staff, finance, equipment and space. Responsible for the overall operation of the Bioresource providing a quality led, efficient and safe service, and provide specialist advice on scientific and technical issues. The professional lead for all Bioresource staff, to be responsible for all professional aspects of the service and encourage the highest professional standards through personal and staff development. Responsible for compliance to the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) research licence, associated biobank and research governance standards and procedures.
