About the role

Connex Education are currently working closely with a large academy based just outside of Mansfield who are seeking a design technology teacher to join the team from September. This role will see you joining the DT department to teach either Graphics, Woodwork or Construction, however the timetable can be flexible to suit your discipline if needed.

About the school

The school in question is based in an ideal location whether you are travelling via car or public transport. As a part of a wider trust of schools, you will be offered extensive development opportunities and be able to access further vacancies and the possibility of permanent placements. The school is often complimented for its great facilities as well as the positive environment where staff feel supported and included whether permanent or supply.

Assignment details

This DT teaching post is to start from the new academic year (September 4th); and you will be required until December as a minimum. Within the role you will be working Monday to Friday, Full time (8am-3.30pm). This will be a full teaching role meaning you will have planning and marking responsibilities, with relevant PPA time factoring into your timetable.

Person Specification

  • Hold qualified teaching status
  • Have suitable, UK teaching experience
  • Hold good subject knowledge
  • Able to work with students of varied abilities up to KS4
  • Can commit to a long term placement until December 2024 as a minimum
  • Reliable and consistent
  • Capable of your ability to work with challenging behaviour
  • Able to work under pressure effectively and ‘think on your feet’
  • Passionate about the success of young people and supporting the local community
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic with a ‘can do attitude’ and good sense of humour
