An exciting opportunity has arisen to join GMMH working with the Homeless Services. This role is aimed at supporting service user and carer engagement and inclusion in service delivery. You will be an advocate of the importance of lived experience and co-production, primarily focusing on building the volunteer workforce. Initially a fixed term contract for 12 months with the intention to extend subject to evaluation and funding.
Working in conjunction with colleagues you will be responsible for supporting a range of community initiatives, including but not limited to maintaining a positive service user experience, volunteer training and supervision and the monitoring and updating of community information.
You will be expected to use dynamic approaches to reduce stigma and improve community engagement in supporting visible recovery; using an asset based approach and contributing to various information streams, including social media and performance reports. You will be proficient in leading and developing groups and community events.
A skilled communicator, ideally you will have demonstrable community development experience working with marginalised client groups, a ‘can do’ attitude, and a strong desire to promote inclusion. Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for using dynamic approaches to reduce stigma, improve community engagement in supporting visible recovery, using an asset based approach and contributing to various information streams, including social media and performance reports.
Due to the nature of the service and client groups, there is an expectation that this post will evolve to support changing need, and therefore the post holder must be flexible and responsive to other tasks commensurate with the area of expertise and responsibility, as directed by the Community Development Lead.
To liaise with partners and stakeholders to support development of education, training and employment opportunities.
To provide information, reports and statistics in line with the service requirements in a prompt and timely manner.
To work flexibly across the service and partner agencies.

To actively promote service user and carer involvement in the planning and delivery of services.

To actively work as part of a team in order to create working conditions conducive to providing better and fairer services to substance users, their families and the wider community.
